Traditionally, X-Rated material would not have been tolerated but there have been few controls placed on what content can be seen on video/DVD so the many video rental companies do very well from the spicier section of the stores. And of course, the Internet is pretty hard to censor.

X-rays

If needed Vaiola Hospital is just outside Nuku’alofa on the way to the airport (Ph 23 200). It can busy so expect a bit of a wait. You will have your luggage X-rayed and pass through the ‘beepy’ machine prior to departure from Tonga. Be prepared to take off your belt and shoes as these machines aren’t quite as well-tuned as some of the more modern versions.
